SAND PLAY ACTIVITY
Students love making “Pictures” on their “Scrap Books or Drawing Pads” and fill colours. In “Sand Play Activity Room” too, they show keen interest to make and decorate Pictures.
In our “Pushp Vatika” we take our Koshika (LKG) students to “Activity Room” where we have kept “Sand” in small bins and pots for organizing this activity which carries following benefits:
- Development of their “Fine Motor Skills”.
- Co-ordination of their “Hands and Head (Brain) ” to work better.
- Promotion of their “Creativity and Imagination”.
- Sensory Development of the sense of “Touch and Feeling” (about wet or dry sand).
- Development of vocabulary through “Speaking and Listening Skill” while playing with “Sand”.
- Development of their “Problem – Solving”
QUIZ ACTIVITY
A “Quiz Activity” is a “Question Game” between the students of two teams to test their knowledge about a certain subject or topic.
In our Pushp Vatika “Quiz competition” is organized for Kalika (UKG) class students for following benefits:
- To encourage their “Competitive spirit”.
- To improve their “General Knowledge”.
- To make the students to play “Quiz Buzzers”.
- To improve their sense of “Timing-Consciousness”.
ALPHABETIC LETTERS ACTIVITY
The “Alphabets” of any language form the “Building Block” of literacy. So, we have prepared “Flash-cards” relevant pictures of “Cartoon Characters” etc. for our Ankur (Nursery) students to enable them to learn the letters easily. This activity carries following benefits:
- Recognition of “Alphabetic Letters”.
- Development of “Listening and Speaking Skills”.
- Sharpening of “Fine Motor Skills”.
- Co-ordination of “Watching and Doing” of actions through the use of “Eyes and Hands”.
- “Sensory Development” through the use of various senses.
- Learning the “Names and Sounds” of Alphabet Letters.
CLAY PLAY ACTIVITY FOR ANKUR (NURSERY)
Clay is versatile sort of element for Toddlers to play and experiment with. Its use makes them “Creative
Learners”.
Following are the benefits of “Clay Play Activity”:
- Strengthens the “Fine Motor Skills” i.e. small muscles in their hands and fingers as they pinch, squeeze and prod the clay.
- Develops their “Colour-Sense” when they shape and create textures.
- Enhances their “Creative Thinking and Interests”.
- Develops their “Hands and Eye Co-ordination”.
- Gives “Practical Shape” to their “Imagination”.
PHONIC ACTIVITY FOR KOSHIKA (LKG)
Learning “Phonics” is the most important “Stepping Stone” in early reading/learning.
- Phonics form the base of “Teaching- Learning Activity” sounds are taught from
- a) “Easy to Difficult”.
- b) Single letter sound to two- letter sound/s and so on.
- It strengthens their knowledge of “Letters, Words and Reading” step by step.

GOLDEN WORDS ACTIVITY FOR KALIKA(UKG)
“Golden Words” are the “Polite Words” which are used in day to day life such as – Sorry, Please, Thank you, Excuse me, etc. We always try to teach the “Golden words” to our school children as –
- These bring “Smile” on every face.
- Using “Golden Words” means to have good manners which endear the children to everyone.
SHOW AND TELL COMPETITION
- “Show and Tell “ is the practice of showing something to the audience and telling them about it. Our students bring different sorts of object with them, and one by one come informed to tell about these items.
Purpose :-
- To build their confidence.
VEGETABLES DAY CELEBRATION
On the “Vegetables Day”, the students come in “Dresses” of different vegetables. The students come forward one by one to explain about the Vegetable Dress in which they come. It increases their general knowledge.
SPORTS ACTIVITY
- Pushp Vatika organises the “Sports Activities” to keep the toddlers healthy and physically fit.
- To develop a sense of friendliness among children.
- To develop the “Team Spirit” among children .
- Sports make them “Active, Strong & Physically fit”.
SHAPE PARTY
- To participate in this activity the students bring “Eatables in Different Shapes”. They share their eatables with one an other. Teacher explains them about the shape of the object. Even the “Seating Order” of the class is changed after some intervals in different shapes.
- To develop the feeling of “Sharing” among students .
- Effective learning about “Shapes”.

- Pushp Vatika arranges Inter – School Dance Competition from time to time. Students of different schools participate in this competition on the given theme.
Purpose :-
- To increase “Confidence”among students.
- To increase “Self Esteem” among children.
- To enable the students to overcome “Stage – fear”.
- To develop Team Spirit among the students.
- To develop their “Artistic Skill”.
- To develop their “Zeal” to perform better.
FANCY DRESS COMPETITION
- Fancy dress competition is an impressive way to infuse confidence and tackle the “Stage Fear” of the child at this stage / age. It is a great idea that allows the ‘Kids’ to enjoy and imitate others in the world.
OBJECTIVE: The main objective of “Fancy Dress Competition” is to develop in them “Confidence” and rid them of the “Stage Fear” It provides the opportunity to the kids to “Come and Speak” in front of large audience.
SELF INTRODUCTION
Who you are, What you do and What others need to know about you? You should be able to give your introduction anytime you meet someone and don’t need the third party to give your introduction to others.
This is the reason why we conduct such sort of competitions in Pushp Vatika.
Poem Recitation
Poem Recitation Competiton is organised in both the languages English & Hindi in Pushp Vatika. The main purpose to organise this competition is to develop their “Oratory & Self Expression”.
MUSICAL CHAIR COMPETITION
- Kalika (UKG) students participate in Musical chair Competition. Musical chair is a game of Elimination involving players, chairs and music, with ‘ One chair’ less than the no. of players taking part in the game. When the ‘Music’ stops, who so ever player fails to sit on the chair is “Eliminated” along with one chair. The process is repeated until only one player remains, that one is the winner.
